Buf trades Jack Eichel to MTL for:

Kotkaniemi

2nd
3rd
Tatar
Danault

Buf retains 4M in the first season only of this deal.

BUF gets a huge hall that is sellable to the Sabres' fan base. They also get first crack a resigning Tatar and Danault if they fit.

MTL gets a #1 centre NOW, and would still have 11 picks for June's draft. They also have roughly 1M left to add at the deadline.

I like KK too, but their first ask would be for Suzy, which is a big no. To make this happen you'd need to give them a young C back so they can sell it to their beaten up fan base.

That is an awful lot for Eichel, Yes he is good but man that's a lot, KK, Tatar and Danault, AND 1, 2, 3.No thanks I understand Buf needs to sell it, But I don't think I would make that trade. Buff is looking to rebuild, KK, 1st, and couple Prospects would do it.
