Mtl: Petry, Gallagher, Leskinen
LA Kings: Quinton Byfield, Clarke Brandt, and Ollie Maatta
Kings are in a playoff position/Hunt and they have loads of young Talent down the middle with Byfield, Turcotte, Vilardi, Anderson-Dolan, in return they get a 2nd PP guy offensive D man behind Doughty, under contract, as well as 25-30 goal scorer who plays well with Danault. Gives them grit for playoffs. Maatta is a salary dump and UFA at seasons end to make room for Petry n Gallagher. Montreal finally gets the big center, that can skate play make and score.

Montreal need for a puck moving D to play on top line with Weber. Ekholm obvious first choice but takes some tinkering to make it work.
To Mtl:
Ekholm, Tomasino
To Nash
Mete, Byron, 1st rd 2021, 2nd Round 2021
But there are other options, maybe not as Top Tier as Ekholm, but could be solid and less expensive gets.
Thomas Hickey yes I know he has been waived, but he is pretty much the odd man out in NY, He plays a solid defensive game and is a good mobile puck mover. He comes with a 2.4 Mil cap hit. Since he has been waived it might not take a lot for Habs to swing that trade. (they would still need to move a roster player to make room)
To Mtl:
Thomas Hickey
To Isles:
Joel Armia
Just because he is a UFA end of season and I don't see Habs Re-signing him, and his cap hit is same as Hickey)
3rd Option, This one addresses a need now and could bode well for future.
Maxime Lajoie, he played solid hockey for the Sens (well as good as u can on a really bad team), very very good skater, smooth, has offensive upside potential PP guy, and is responsible in his own end. He is only 23, playing with Weber would be great for his development, when Chiarot and Edmundson are finished we are still ok on left side with Lajoie and Romanov
TO Mtl:
Lajoie
To Carolina
3rd rd pick 2022

The first two look great. Carolina is not trading parts away though, they look good as-is.

Mtl: Petry, Byron
Carolina: Necas, Bean, and Gauthier
or
Mtl: Petry Byron
Vegas: Hague, Kreps, Glass

Mtl:
Petry Byron, Hudon
Carolina: Martin Necas, Jake Bean, Janne Kuokkanen
Hamiltons injury makes Canes very thin on RD, Making them short on a PP quarterback. byron provides depth and great PK instincts, who can chip in with 15-20 goals.

Lets say Habs Move Petry. (I know lot of you love him and he does have value so you could get something for him) Like couple good prospects ready to make the jump. So let's Say they make that trade.
I would like see them make a move of MTL: Kotkiniemi, Lehkonen, and couple picks/Prospects
to Wild because they are looking at shedding payroll and rebuilding
Wild: Dumba and Zucker
Dumba replaces petry on the RD, Zucker is a solid 2nd line LW to play with Domi and Armia, and let Suzuki Center the 3rd line.

NO NO NO From the Habs, WHY is every single thread posted has either Barrie, Puljujarvi or Dubois coming to Montreal. Barrie is a Big no, don't need him just need to keep rebuilding. We need to get rid of some of the Vets we got. Puljujarvi, is useless, we have enough bums of his abilities. I'd just assume Keep Anderson, at least he will hit and fight. And Keep Savard, at least he is a good mentor for the kids.

Solid Trade, habs may have to toss in something else, via prospect or draft pick.
Personally I can do With Kravistov whatever he is whining about now we don't need on the team. Drouin whined in Tampa look how that turned out.
I would Go Lehkonen, Chiarot, Primeau----- Lafreniere, Georgiev.

Make that Comtois and Jacob Perreault, and 2nd rd pick.

You do Realize Montreal has said they are looking to rebuild, we don't need players like Hayes in Return. if you want to make a trade make a trade with a team in playoff hunt, that has lots of young talent that could part with some to push them toward a cup run. Like for instance. Kings are in 6th and in a position to build for playoffs, yet they have LOTS of young players, someone they could target would be Byfield, they already have Danault Kpoitar Lizotte down the middle, with Turcotte, Anderson Dolan, Vilardi ready to make a move to NHL. Montreal should target some of their pool of Talent, Byfield, Vilardi, Turcotte.

I read so many trade proposals like moving our players and looking to get like Sean monahan, or Kevin Hayes. Like don't people know the habs are looking to rebuild, don't need any overpriced players back, if that was case we could keep what we got. ok having said that I have thought about what we could package to get Lafreniere, he doesn't seem to be fitting in with Rangers, and Rangers are at a point now where they could give up young talent to make a run at the cup, Solid stay at home like Chiarot, and a solid 3rd liner, pk specialist could help push them in right direction. If I were looking to get him, I would go a little bigger trade and add Georgiev. just my thoughts we need a solid goalie as I feel Price may be moved in off Season, and I think Allen could be moved at deadline.
