Why would Habs give up Petry and a 2nd for a guy who is a U. F. A in a month? How do they benefit from this?

Hughes won't sell that low. He is playing much better now. If he gets what he wants he will do it in tbe off season. Gives Petry a chance to regain some value.

Buffalo is not paying Skinner 31.5 million over the next seven years to not play for them. Dahlin is stud top 4 dman for 15yrs. A 1st and Caufield doesn't even start the conversation for Dahlin alone.

I don't know if its our suggestion trades or real rumor we've heard but that my suggestion
To vegas : Domi and a 2pick
To mtl : stastny tuch and a 1st pick
Lets me explain vegas want a top 2 def in pietrangelo or krug and if they can t trade fleury they need money so they need to move a bad contract like stastny too high for is productivity and montreal can take that bad contract for a year and tuch is drop in trade
And domi could be a very good 2 center for vegas and mtl need a big rw what your tough.

Interesting, but it would take all MTL's cap space without addressing their needs. Plus, Stastny is a centre, which they don't need, but I guess that's why you're proposing a 1st.
