Actually, I think the Habs should make a big offer for Coyotes 1st in 2023 (without lottery protection) .

1st overall this year and Weber plus a throw-in like a 2nd rounder for it and salary dump like Bryan Little.

If Habs can get Coyotes to toss in Crouse, I think they should jump at it.

This makes sense to me since Arizona should be the presumptive favourite for 1st in the Conor Bedard draft - and would give us 2 shots at lottery win in 2023 if Hughes and Gorton go with a rebuild.

Drafting shane wright isn’t going to help them. It’s a mistake. It will be like drafting Doug wickenheiser over denis savard. He is going to be a flop just the same. Montreal tried to fix there mistakes by trading Chris Chelios for denis savard. In 1993 the Montreal Canadiens won’t the Stanley cup but it wasn’t because of that trade. Savard had no help in winning that cup, it was by trading for Vincent dampousse, Kirk muller, and signing brain bellows, along with drafting John leclare, Eric Desjardins, Gilbert Dionne, Mathew schiender, and most importantly the goal tending of Patrick Roy that won that cup, if they had of drafted denis savard when they could have maybe Montreal would have won a few more cups, if they had of kept Chris chelios maybe they would have one even more, they trade Patrick Roy there hart and sole for basically a couple of ham sandwiches. They traded away there 1993 cup team and there future away for mark recchi Pierre turgeon, it got them no where. My point is they are starting over, managment ruined them. If Montreal doesn’t draft that young solvak that proved himself at olympics at 17 years old because Shane wright says he deserves to be drafted first overall then Jeff gorton Kent Hughes knows nothing about hockey, yes Montreal needs a centre but Shane wright isn’t him. He isn’t a Connor Madavid or an Austin Mathews, scouts just don’t want to see a kid from Slovakia get drafted with the number one pic.

And if you think I don't know what I’m talking about I went out and scouted with the assistant coach and assistant general manager of the university of Wisconsin terrier 2 team. He was also the captain before he was given the job of being assistant coach and assistant general manager. While on Christmas break he came home to scout junior a players and he asked me advice on who to recruit. The players I picked weren’t Elible cause they were drafted by the ohl which means they can’t be offered scholarships. The players that he was scouting weren’t good enough. Cole caulfield he barely knew who he was but I did I had him ask coles father for an autograph for my son. Wish I could post a picture. Point of my story is Shane wright isn’t good enough to be first overall pick. He hasn’t showed he is good enough to be drafted even in the top ten. I played hockey for years and I played against men when I was a boy. Shane hasn’t played at that level. He didn’t show himself or put himself out better than the rest he played on a team with two guys that were older didn’t get drafted. He didn’t score he isn’t put number up better than players on his team. He didn’t finish the year with most most or most goals he didn't prove nothing. The solvak kid scored the most goals was best player in the Olympics playing against men. Shane wright only played against boys. He hasn’t even put himself out as the best in a boys league. That has to tell you something Jeff gorton, Kent Hughes. If you thinking bout drafting Shane right you might as well draft the pic. The solvak kid is going to be a superstar, but scouts and critics under estimate him.

Arizona isn't giving up Crouse for Weber let alone the 3rd pick in the draft as well. Perhaps the silliest offer I have seen.
